Hammamet Festival : A musical journey to the rhythm of summer

For almost six decades, the Hammamet International Festival has been one of the must-see cultural events of the Tunisian summer. Held in the prestigious open-air amphitheatre of the Hammamet International Cultural Centre, the festival enjoys an exceptional location overlooking the Mediterranean, creating a unique atmosphere where art and nature meet.

This international cultural event is distinguished by its eclectic programme, which embraces all the performing arts: music, theatre, dance and contemporary creations. The event is a veritable artistic crossroads where Mediterranean and world cultures meet, offering a privileged platform for expression to Tunisian and international artists.

Cultural and economic impact

The Hammamet International Festival is much more than just summer entertainment. It is a real driver of cultural development for the region and makes a significant contribution to Tunisia’s attractiveness as a tourist destination. The event promotes intercultural exchanges and strengthens Tunisia’s position as a leading cultural destination in the Mediterranean.

Hammamet International Festival - 2025 Edition

This prestigious cultural event attracts thousands of visitors every year, both Tunisian and international, creating a positive economic dynamic for the region. The spin-offs extend far beyond the cultural sector, benefiting hotels, restaurants and all local tourist services.

The 2025 edition: “Continuous Vibes

The 59th edition of the festival will run from 11 July to 13 August 2025, under the evocative theme of ‘Continuous Vibes’. This ambitious programme features 36 shows spread over 33 evenings, with the remarkable participation of artists from 15 different countries. This geographical diversity underlines the international scope of the festival and its role as a cultural bridge between continents.

The 2025 edition promises to be particularly rich, with a selection of artists that perfectly illustrates the festival’s philosophy: celebrating diversity while maintaining artistic excellence. The programme reflects a carefully orchestrated balance between local talent and international stars, guaranteeing a complete musical and artistic journey.

Symbolic opening and closing

The festival will open on 11 July with ‘Ragouj – Le Spectacle’, a Tunisian musical comedy performed by Abdelhamid and Hamza Bouchnak, a moving tribute to Kafon. This opening underlines the festival’s commitment to Tunisian creativity and the preservation of the country’s artistic heritage.

The closing ceremony, scheduled for 13 August, will be hosted by Nabiha Karaouli as part of Tunisia’s National Women’s Day, illustrating the festival’s commitment to promoting equality and celebrating female talent.

Renowned international artists

The 2025 edition will welcome several emblematic figures from the international music scene. Yuri Buenaventura will bring the bewitching rhythms of Colombia, while Cheb Mami will represent the excellence of Algerian music. Las Migas, an acclaimed Spanish group, will enrich the programme with their Iberian sounds, while Bassekou Kouyaté and Ngoni Ba will transport audiences into the musical world of Mali.

The Tunisian scene in the spotlight

Tunisian artists take centre stage in this programme. Lotfi Bouchnak, a legendary figure in Tunisian music, will share the stage with Saber Rebai, while Balti will represent the new generation. Ghazi Ayadi will present ‘Habit Zamani’, and Leila Toubel will present ‘Ad Vitam’, illustrating the richness and diversity of contemporary Tunisian creation.

Artistic and cultural diversity

The 2025 programme reflects a remarkable geographical and artistic diversity. Palestinian artists such as Noël Kharman rub shoulders with Jordanian talents such as Siilawy, Syrian creators such as Al Shami, and Franco-Algerian groups such as Koum Tara. This artistic mosaic reflects the spirit of openness and intercultural dialogue that characterises the festival.
